Castle of the Thunder God

Here is the rough concept and reference sheet for my 3D Environments final. It is basically a castle in the sky that belongs to the Japanese thunder god Raijin. It's a floating castle that actually creates lightning and thunder(instead of the god) by some machine hidden underneath the main cloud which is actually made out of metal. I wanted to incorporate some steampunk elements in this which is actually where I got the idea for making a castle on a 'cloud'

Stump final

Well I didn't want to spend too much time on the stump so I could figure out what to do for my 3D Environment final, but I'm satisfied with this.


This little exercise for my 3D Environments class was my first time using Zbrush and baking normals and all that jazz. I gotta say, I really love Zbrush now and I am definitely going to keep using it. Here is the model in Maya with the normal map, the texture is still a WIP so bear that in mind and some screen grabs of the sculpt
